HIGH SCHOOLS – Mayfield/Northville swept the boys’ and girls’ team championships in the Section 2 Group 4 track and field championships, held Tuesday at Stillwater High School.

The Mayfield/Northville girls won a close, three-way race for the top of the podium, finishing with 118 points to just top host Stillwater (112) and Coxsackie-Athens.

Hannah Hoffman led the way for the team champions with a sweep of the 100 and 200 meters. Abigail Chest gave Mayfield a clean sweep in the sprints with a win in the 400, and also joined with Jaidyn Chest, Emma Peck and Fianna Halloran to win the 1,600 relay.

Runner-up Stillwater was led by Kara Moran with wins in the long jump and triple jump. Izzy Mack added a win in the high jump, and both Moran and Mack ran on Stillwater’s winning 400 relay team along with Bella Estill and Brooke Coon.
