SCHENECTADY — Northeast Grocery Inc., the parent company of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Market, has named a new executive vice president and chief information officer.
Northeast Grocery announced Scott Kessler will spearhead the development and execution of the company’s technology roadmap to align with business goals. He will direct the IT functions of both companies, and work closely with all areas of the business to identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency.

Kessler will provide his leadership and expertise to both companies through Northeast Shared Services and report directly to Northeast Grocery’s CEO Frank Curci.
Kessler previously served as the executive vice president and chief information officer at BJ’s Wholesale Club, and he has held similar senior-level management roles at Belk, GSI Commerce and Accenture.

Kessler has a bachelor’s degree in business management, and a MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He volunteers as CIO and council chair for the National Retail Foundation. He and his family will soon be moving to New York from Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
Northeast Grocery Inc. collectively operates close to 300 supermarkets throughout New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire, with over 30,000 employees.
