SARATOGA SPRINGS — Noel Gallagher addressed the bomb threat that resulted in the cancellation of his Saturday night performance at Saratoga Performing Arts Center for the first time on Monday.
Gallagher’s headlining set with his band High Flying Birds was called off after an unidentified person called in a bomb threat before the band’s performance could commence at its posted 9:40 p.m. set time.
“Unfortunately, on the advice of local authorities, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds performance at Saratoga Performing Arts Centre did not go ahead on Saturday evening,” declared a message posted on Gallagher’s official Twitter account Monday afternoon. “The decision was taken out of an abundance of caution to prioritize safety of fans and staff. The tour continues tonight at New York City’s SummerStage in Central Park and we look forward to seeing fans there.”

Show promoter Live Nation has yet to release details about potential refunds for ticket holders for Saturday night’s halted concert.
Following opening sets from Garbage and Metric, Gallagher, the guitar player and principal songwriter of 1990s Britpop band Oasis, was set to take the stage in front of a crowd of several thousand at SPAC.
Gallagher’s tour bus was seen exiting the venue at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, with a venue staffer subsequently informing the crowd that the show could not continue due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
The crowd was directed to immediately evacuate the venue. Police are investigating the bomb threat as a felony count of making a terroristic threat, according to state park police.
