BROADALBIN — A 21-year-old passenger was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Broadalbin Wednesday evening.
The car went off the Lakeview Road, struck several mailboxes and ended up in a wooded area, according to Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino.
The passenger who died was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital. The driver, 17, was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with critical injuries, Giardino said. No other occupants were in the vehicle.
“It’s a sad case,” said Giardino.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
Emergency responders arrived onsite, including volunteers from the Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company.
More information is expected to be released later on Thursday, the sheriff said.
