Failure to stop results in ticket

GLOVERSVILLE — One person was ticketed following an accident in the city on March 6, according to city police.

Officers said Sarah A. Brady of Gloversville was turning on to Route 30A from South Kingsboro Avenue Extension with the light, when her car was struck by a vehicle operated by Patricia Oare of Gloversville, who police said was turning against the light from South Kingsboro Avenue on to Route 30A.

Oare was issued a ticket for failure to stop at a stoplight.

Argument leads to several charges

JOHNSTOWN — Richard R. Opalka, 40, of 2776 Route 67, was arrested by city police at 4 p.m. March 9 and charged with third-degree assault, obstruction of breathing and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Police said he was charged at 345 N. Perry St. after officers responded to a family offense.

Opalka was released in lieu of $400 cash bail, to reappear later in City Court.

Man given fine or jail choice

AMSTERDAM — Anthony J. Reyes, 28, of 331 Locust Ave., was arrested by the Montgomery County sheriff’s office March 10 on a bench warrant for allegedly failing to pay a fine.

Reyes was arraigned and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $455 to pay the fine. His other option is 30 days in jail to satisfy the fine.
