Warrant arrest leads to more charges


GLOVERSVILLE — A Broadalbin man is facing charges after being found with more than 20 grams of cocaine and other drugs following his apprehension for being a parole absconder according to city police.

Tywann K. Johnson, 30, of 610 Route 29 was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Wednesday.

Johnson was wanted on an active parole warrant for being a parole absconder. During his apprehension, police said they found Johnson was in possession of 29.5 grams of cocaine, 1.8 grams of heroin and 3.7 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Johnson was arraigned in City Court by Judge Traci DiMezza and sent to the Fulton County Jail without bail.
