Trying to hit officer with car alleged

GLOVERSVILLE — A city woman is facing charges after city police said she nearly hit an officer with her vehicle.

Danielle Hamm, 32, of 18 Temple St. was charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child on April 22.

Officers said they responded to the area of 150 E. Fulton St. for a report of two males fighting. Once on scene, officers interviewed the involved parties as well as Hamm, who was in the immediate area.

Police said Hamm became upset and walked to her vehicle and started the engine. When the officer directed her to stay to be interviewed, Hamm placed her vehicle in drive and pulled out of the parking lot at an excessive speed, narrowly missing striking an officer. It was also observed while Hamm was leaving, her child was in the vehicle.

Hamm turned herself in to police and was processed at the station.

Hamm was arraigned in front of City Court Judge Traci DiMezza, and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $1,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
