Man charged with criminal contempt

JOHNSTOWN — A 56-year-old man was arrested on May 7 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt by Fluton County sheriff’s deputies.

According to police, Nicholas A. Vanwormer, of 962 Route 29A, Johnstown, was charged after a caller complained that Vanwormer had disobeyed a stay-away order of protection.

Vanwormer was arraigned in the town of Johnstown court and released on his own recognizance.

Traffic stop leads to marijuana charges

JOHNSTOWN — Brandy L. Vannostrand, 32, of 27 Third Ave., Gloversville, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies on May 2 with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop.

She was issued an appearance ticket to return to town court at a later date.

Man charged with DWI following stop

JOHNSTOWN — Following a motor vehicle accident, a 42-year-old Amsterdam man was charged with felony DWI.

Brian D. Young, 601 Mariaville Road, Amsterdam, was charged at 6:40 a.m. on April 23 with aggravated driving while intoxicated and failure to stay right. Police alleged Young was in a single-vehicle accident on Route 29A and, during an investigation, displayed signs of being intoxicated.

He is to appear in Johnstown town court at a later date.

Pot possession charged in traffic stop

AMSTERDAM — Darnell E. Rollins, 22, of Schnectady was charged at 10:15 p.m. on May 8 by New York state police with unlawful possession of marijuana and moving from lane unsafely.

Traffic stop leads

to several charges

OPPENHEIM — Dustin P. Poyfair, 23, of Gloversville, was charged by New York state police on May 9 on several charges following a traffic stop.

Poyfair was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree, unlawful possession of marijuana, invalid inspection sticker and inadequate exhaust.

He was released on appearance tickets.

Failure to obey court order charged

PERTH — Monica J. Snedeker, 34, of Johnstown was charged by New York state police on May 10 at 5:34 p.m. with second-degree criminal contempt for failure to obey a court order.

Snedeker was held on $500 cash bail.

Man charged with petit larceny

NORTHAMPTON — Jonathan M. Murphy, 26, of Edinburgh, was charged by New York state police with petit larceny on May 12 at 8:05 p.m.

Murphy was released on an appearance ticket.

Passenger charged with pot possession

JOHNSTOWN —Dylan J. Flood, 22, of Gloversville, was charged on May 13 by New York state police with unlawful possession of marijuana following a 1:15 a.m. traffic stop on Steele Avenue Extension. He was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by troopers.

Flood was released on an appearance ticket.

Driver charged with driving while on drugs

JOHNSTOWN — Ravell M. Sheffield, 29, of Gloversville was charged by New York state police at 1:17 a.m. on May 13 with a violation of vehicle traffic law and operator impaired by drugs, first offense.

The traffic stop was on Steele Avenue Extension.

Sheffield was released on an appearance ticket.
