Man charged with forcible touching

GLOVERSVILLE — A city man is facing charges after city police said he allegedly forcibly touched a juvenile.

Kevin M. Winnie, 48, of 48 Prospect Ave. was charged on Thursday with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the Detective Division of the Gloversville Police Department.

Officers said Winnie allegedly touched the intimate parts of a juvenile female for the purpose of gratifying his sexual desires. Winnie is also accused of grabbing the same juvenile female by the arm, leaving a contusion.

Winnie was arraigned by Judge Tracy DiMezza and was remanded to Fulton County Correctional Facility. Bail was set as $500 cash $5,000 bond.

Traffic stop leads to marijuana charges

GLOVERSVILLE — Dean A. Fisher, 49, of 212 Bleecker St. was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana by city police on July 4.

Officers said they conducted a traffic stop on Union Street after a traffic violation was observed. While speaking to the driver of the vehicle, Fisher, an odor of marihuana was emitting from the vehicle.

Police said upon questioning, Fisher admitted to possessing 5.2 grams of marihuana in his vehicle and turned the marihuana over to officers.

Speeding stop leads to additional charges

AMSTERDAM — David D. Baird, 36, of 62 Milton Ave., Amsterdam was arrested by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies Saturday and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding.

Deputies said Baird was arrested following a traffic stop and was processed and released on traffic tickets returnable to Town Court on July 27 at 6 p.m.

Taxi ride ends with theft of services

AMSTERDAM — Justin A. Barry, 29, of 74 Prospect St. Apartment 2, Amsterdam, was arrested by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies Sunday and charged with theft of services.

Deputies said Barry was arrested after he failed to pay for a taxi ride in the town of Amsterdam. Barry was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town Court on July 27 at 6 p.m.

Man allegedly threatens another

GLEN — Nickolas N. Lilley, 23, of Moyer Road, Sprakers, was arrested by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies Saturday and charged with harassment.

Deputies said Lilley was arrested following an incident that occurred on Moyer Road during which Lilley allegedly threatened an individual and was subsequently arrested. Lilley was arraigned in Town Court and issued an order of protection.

Traffic stop leads to more charges

AMSTERDAM — Jeffery D. Schaefer, 32, Phillips St., Amsterdam, was arrested by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies Friday and charged with operating a motor vehicle was a suspended registration and having an unsafe tire.

Deputies said Schaefer was arrested as a result of a single car motor vehicle accident on Route 5 in Amsterdam.

Schaefer was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to Town Court July 27 at 6 p.m.
