GLOVERSVILLE — Two people were charged after city police said they were found passed out in a vehicle with drugs present.
Charles D. Newton, 36, of 62 E. Pine St. and Alisha M. Hogan, 26, of 3741 Route 29 in Johnstown were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 10. Newton was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Officers said they were called to the area of 6 Montgomery St. for a report of subjects passed out in a car. Officers found Hogan and Newton sleeping in the car. Hogan was observed to have a wallet on her lap which had heroin on it in plain sight.
After further investigation, Newton was additionally found to have drugs on him.
Newton and Hogan were both were arraigned in City Court by Judge Traci DiMezza. Newton was sent to the Fulton County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. Hogan was sent to the Fulton County Jail on $500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
