Man charged with criminal contempt

GLOVERSVILLE — Craig J. Mansell, 43, of 45 Third St. was charged with second-degree criminal contempt by city police on Friday.

The officer said the charges stem from allegations he violated a family court Order of protection. Mansell showed up to the residence of the protected party, violating the order, along with sending text messages, also violating the order.

Mansell was processed and held for arraignment in City Court.

Man charged on city bench warrant

GLOVERSVILLE — Brandon M. Smykla, 33, of 20 First Ave. was taken into custody on a bench warrant by city police on Saturday.

Officers said Smykla was charged on an active bench warrant issued by the Gloversville City Court. The warrant was issued after Smykla failed to appear in court for violation charged of being in a city park after closing hours.

Smykla was processed and held for arraignment in Gloversville City Court.

Two men charged with petit larceny

GLOVERSVILLE —James P. Yawn, 37, of 272 Mariaville Road in Rotterdam and Steven M. Sanford, 35, of 11 Arbor Ave. in Mechanicville were charged with petit larceny by city police on Nov. 23.

Officers said Yawn and Sanford were charged following a report of subjects shoplifting from Walmart. Yawn and Stanford were observed passing all points of sales without paying for items.

Both subjects were issued appearance tickets with a return court date of Dec. 11.

Bench warrant suspect caught with marijuana

GLOVERSVILLE — Andrew R. Hickok, 30, of 17 Mill St. was taken into custody on a bench warrant by city police on Monday.

Officers said Hickok was seen by police entering a store. Officers were aware of an active warrant for his arrest for failing to appear for a previous aggravated unlicensed operator charge, suspended registration, equipment violation, and uninspected motor vehicle citations.

During the search incident to arrest, Hickok was found to be in possession of 13.3 grams of marijuana and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Hickok was transported to the Gloversville Police station, processed and held for arraignment.

Two men charged with stolen property

GLEN — Michael A. Vogel, 19, of St. Johnsonville and A 17-year-old unidentified male were charged by state police on Oct. 31 with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property for an incident which occurred in Oppenheim on Sept. 1.

Man charged with menacing, mischief

PERTH — Duane J. Bronson, 32, of Gloversville was charged by state police on Nov. 24 with third-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Man charged with petit larceny, forgery

CANAJOHARIE — Robert Bartlett, 53, of Red Hook, was charged on Nov. 17 by state police with petit larceny and second-degree forgery for an incident involving a deed, will or contract for an incident, which occurred on Nov. 6.
