Woman charged with welfare fraud

JOHNSTOWN — Nicole L. Murray-Sutler, 24, of 13 Franklin St., Gloversville, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s investigators Wednesday with felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree welfare fraud, and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

Investigators said she allegedly submitted false documents to the county Department of Social Services to fraudulently obtain $1,143 in welfare benefits. The alleged fraud took place between Oct. 16 and Jan. 31, investigators said.

Murray-Sutler will appear later in City Court.

No headlights leads to another charge

JOHNSTOWN— Adam J. Proctor, 27, of 177 Gray Road, Mayfield, was charged by city police at 1:51 a.m. Wednesday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and no headlights, a violation.

Police said he was charged on North Comrie Avenue after a vehicle stop.

Proctor will appear later in City Court.

Two charged after traffic stop in city

JOHNSTOWN — Two people were charged by city police at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday on North Perry Street following a vehicle stop.

Police said driver Gregory C. Blowers, 28, of 104 W. Clinton St., was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.

Police said Cassandra E. Blowers, 26, of the same address, was also charged with misdemeanor facilitation of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Both suspects were arraigned and will appear later in City Court.

Tinted windows leads to citations

JOHNSTOWN — Adonta B. Moore, 20, of 1 Maple Terrace, Gloversville, was charged by city police at 5:38 a.m. Tuesday with misdemeanor second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and tinted windows, a violation.

Police said he was charged following a vehicle stop on North Comrie Avenue.

Moore will appear later in City Court.

Traffic stop results in several citations

JOHNSTOWN — Taylor L. Young, 22, of 518 N. Perry St., was charged by city police at 11:01 p.m. Monday with misdemeanor counts of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving with suspended registration, and operating with no insurance.

Police said the suspect was arrested after a vehicle stop on North Comrie for allegedly driving with a suspended registration.

Young will appear later in City Court.

Driver charged with switched plates

JOHNSTOWN — Autumn L. Welch, 28, of 3278 County Highway 30, Amsterdam, was charged by city police at 9:48 p.m. Monday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving with suspended registration, operating with no insurance, all misdemeanors; and switched plates, a violation.

Police said she was charged following a vehicle stop for driving on East Main Street with a suspended registration.

She will appear later in City Court.

Man writes check on closed account

JOHNSTOWN — Andrew R. Walco, 20, of 74 Fifth Ave., Gloversville, was charged by city police at 2:29 a.m. Monday with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police said he was arrested for issuing a check to Price Chopper on Route 30A on a closed account.

He was arraigned and will appear later in City Court.
