Woman charged with contempt

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Mary G. Damin, 56, of St. Johnsville was charged by state police on March 30 with second-degree criminal contempt.

Stolen property, petit larceny charged

PALATINE — Kayla L. Batten, 34, of 7 Rock St., Canajoharie, was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies April 7 for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Batten had allegedly stolen from the Dollar General in Palatine Bridge. Batten was found at her residence in possession of the stolen items.

She is to appear at village of Canajoharie court at a later date.

Man chases UTVs with truck, crashes

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Kerry L. Stowell, 47, of 1545 Kennedy Road, was charged on April 5, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

Stowell was charged following a motor vehicle accident on Route 5. Stowell had allegedly chased a pair of UTV’s out of a farm field and ended up striking one of them with a truck causing the UTV to rollover.

Stowell was released on appearance tickets returnable to town court.

UTV driver cited for trespassing

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Craig E. McCarthy, 24, of 339 County Highway 151, Dolgeville was charged on April 5, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for trespassing. McCarthy was on an UTV and allegedly going through a farmer’s field located on Hilabrant Road. McCarthy was released on an appearance ticket returnable to town of St. Johnsville court at a later date.

Teen on UTV cited for trespassing

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Emily L. Miller, 19, of 141 S. Main St., Dolgeville was charged on April 5, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for trespassing. Miller was on an UTV allegedly going through a farmer’s field located on Hilabrant Road. Miller was released on an appearance ticket returnable to town court at a later date.

Woman on UTV cited for trespassing

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Karleigh J. Kashuba, 28, of 141 Kingsly Road, Salsbury was charged on April 5, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for trespassing. Kingsly was on an UTV and allegedly going through a farmer’s field located on Hilabrant Road. Kingsly was released on an appearance ticket returnable to town court at a later date.

Man charged with filing false documents

JOHNSTOWN — Matthew E. Waldvogel, 38, of 680 Route 29, Broadalbin, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s investigators at 2:29 p.m. March 4 with felony first-degree offering a false instrument.

Investigators said he allegedly filed a false document with the Fulton County Department of Social Services in an attempt to obtain benefits he wasn’t entitled to.

He will appear later in City Court.

Felony possession of a weapon charged

JOHNSTOWN — Timothy W. McDaniel Jr., 35, of 584 N. Union St., Gallon, Ohio, was charged by city police at 4:54 a.m. Sunday with felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said he was charged at the Holiday Inn, 308 N. Comrie Ave., after officers responded to a call of a “suicidal” male walking with a handgun. Police said McDaniel was arrested without incident and a handgun was seized from a hotel room. The suspect will appear later in City Court.
