Man arrested for criminal contempt
JOHNSTOWN — On Thursday, state police in Mayfield arrested Timothy J. Cassidy, 44, of Gloversville, for Second-degree criminal contempt. Cassidy is accused of sending text messages to an individual in violation of a court mandate.
Following his arrest, Cassidy was arraigned in the town of Johnstown Court and remanded to the Fulton County Jail in lieu of bail.
He is scheduled to reappear in the town of Johnstown Court on June 20.
Possession charge, transporting cigarettes
GLEN — Sammie J. French, 29, of Crown Point, was charged by state police with criminal possession of marijuana and possession and transportation of more than 30,000 unstamped cigarettes.
French was arraigned and remanded to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of cash bail.
Area men charged with possession
AMSTERDAM — Alfio Coco, 26, of Gloversville and Jeffery G. Tracy, 37 were charged by state police on May 10 for unlawful possession of marijuana. Coco was additionally charged with failure to pay a fine.
Traffic stop leads to DWI charge
HAGAMAN — Sonia C. Brennan, 43, of Glen was charged by state police on Friday with driving while intoxicated and failure to take a breath test.
Brennan was released in her own recognizance.
Man charged with third-degree assault
EDINBURG — Alain N. Lescault, 46, of Hadley was charged on Friday with third-degree assault.
Lescault was released on an appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.
Man charged with possession of weapon
PALATINE — Laurence H. Maynard, 29, homeless, was charged on Sunday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Maynard, who is a convicted felon, was in possession of a shot gun. He was arraigned in town court and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
