Woman charged with having pot

JOHNSTOWN — Sarah E. Ambrosino, 21, of 113 Kingsboro Ave., Gloversville, was charged by city police at 4:20 p.m. Sunday with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police said she was charged on South Comrie Avenue, after officers responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on East Madison Avenue. During the interview, it was determined the suspect was allegedly in possession of one-half ounce of marijuana. Ambrosino will appear later in City Court.

Man charged with disorderly conduct

JOHNSTOWN — Matthew L. Winney Jr., 18, of 32 S. William St., was charged by city police at 10:08 p.m. Saturday with disorderly conduct, a violation.

Police said he was charged after officers responded to a family offense at his home. After handling the complaint, police said officers said that Winney was walking away from the residence and yelling.

Police said they advised Winney to stop, but he continued yelling and making unreasonable noise before being taken into custody.

He was released to appear in City Court.

Man assaults victim who had stay-away

GLOVERSVILLE — Dylan R. Brown, 23, of Walnut Street, was charged with third-degree attempted assault and second-degree criminal contempt by city police on Monday at 6 p.m.

Police responded to Walnut Street for the report of a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim who stated that she was assaulted by Brown. During the course of investigation police learned the victim had an order of protection in place against Brown.

Brown was taken into custody, processed and held for arraignment.

Woman accused of bringing contraband

JOHNSTOWN — Yolanda M. Trombetta, 33, of Utica, was charged by state police on Sunday with second-degree promoting contraband to prisoners, second-degree reckless endangerment and violating the state sanitary code for an incident at Hale Creek Correctional Facility.

Speeding leads to drunk driving arrest

AMSTERDAM — Jacub Bramer, 22, of Amsterdam was charged with no license, failure to keep right, moving from a lane unsafely, speeding in a posted zone, driving while intoxicated and having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.

Man charged with being disorderly

FONDA — Phillip A. Chipps, 45, of Fonda was charged by state police on Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.

Woman charged with possession

FONDA — Katie E. Newkirk, 26, of Tribes Hill, was charged by state police on Sept. 1 with unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to keep right.

Man charged with petit larceny

AMSTERDAM — John E. Kunasz, 68, of Amsterdam was charged with petit larceny by state police on Sunday.

Woman parked in roadway gets DWI

MOHAWK — Christine J. Brown, 26, of Gloversville was charged by state police on Sunday with no license, driving while intoxicated, having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher, parking on the highway, throwing refuse on the highway and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle while on the highway.
