Man charged with petit larceny
AMSTERDAM — Matthew L. Brown, 36, of 271 E. Main St., was charged on Thursday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for petit larceny.
Brown was charged following a shoplifting complaint at Walmart. Brown was allegedly observed by Walmart Asset Protection Employees concealing merchandise including men’s cologne, Pokemon Cards and a tablet computer inside his jacket.
Brown was taken into custody while attempting to exit the store. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket to return to Town Court on Tuesday.

AMSTERDAM — Kimberly M. Laroe, 34, of Johnstown was charged by state police on Monday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

HAGAMAN — Anthony C. Robinson, 35, of Amsterdam was charged by state police on Monday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
