Stopping behind cops leads to DWI

JOHNSTOWN — Christin R. Dippolito, 36, of 355 W. Maple St., Corinth, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies at 5:39 p.m. June 14 with driving with 0.18 percent or greater blood-alcohol content.

Deputies said she was charged on North Pine Street in the town of Johnstown. Deputies said Dippolito allegedly drove while intoxicated. Deputies were conducting a vehicle stop of a different vehicle when she pulled her vehicle behind sheriff patrol vehicles. Deputies observed her to allegedly be under the influence of alcohol after a subsequent interview.

Dippolito will appear later in Town Court.

Driver facing drunk driving charges

AMSTERDAM — Issac J. Davilamarquez, 19, of Amsterdam was charged by state police on Saturday at 12:35 a.m. with no license, failure to stop at a stop sign, having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher and driving while intoxicated.

Davilamarquez was released on appearance tickets.

Motorcyclist facing DWI, other charges

MAYFIELD — Wayne A. Lynch, 48, of St. Johnsville was charged by state police on Saturday at 11:25 p.m. with motorcycle helmet violation, speeding in excess of 55 mph, driving while intoxicated and having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.

Lynch was arraigned and released in his own recognizance.

Man allegedly pulls knife, threatens man

GLOVERSVILLE — Michael W. Burton, 55, of Gloversville, was charged with second-degree menacing, second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon by city police on Friday at 11:25 a.m.

Burton was taken into custody following an investigation into a domestic dispute after police determined that he had drawn a knife and threatened a victim. During the course of arrest, officers allegedly found Burton in possession of a metal “knuckle” knife.

Burton was processed at the station and arraigned in City Court.

Victim struck in head by household item

GLOVERSVILLE — Heather M. Ovitt, 36, of Gloversville, was charged with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor, by city police on Friday at 8:30 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint where police made contact with the victim who stated that Ovitt had thrown a household item that struck the individual in the head. The victim was treated by EMS and released on the scene.

Ovitt was taken into custody and transported to the station where she was processed and held for arraignment.

Woman had revoked license, drugs

GLOVERSVILLE — Jeanette M. Simek, 42, of 2 McKinley Ave., Johnstown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating without an interlock device, all misdemeanors, by city police on Saturday at 1:20 a.m.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop on Bleecker Street where the operator, Simek, was found to hold a revoked driver’s license. Upon further investigation, police allegedly found Simek to be in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance.

Simek was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable in City Court.
