Man taken into custody on a warrant

JOHNSTOWN — Paul A. Krutz Jr., 28, of 358 Dygert Road, Canajoharie, was arrested by city police at 1:31 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant.

Police said he was arrested at the police station on an active bench warrant, a violation, issued by City Court.

Krutz was arraigned in City Court and released to reappear later.

Man arrested on warrant at station

JOHNSTOWN — Jared R. Marcais, 30, of 319 W. Main St., was arrested by city police at 8:52 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant.

Police said he was arrested at the police station on an active bench warrant, a violation, issued by City Court.

Marcais was arraigned in City Court and released to reappear later.

Police: Man tried to abscond with 24 beers

JOHNSTOWN — Tyronne L. Allen, 46, of 200 Bleecker St., Gloversville, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday on a charge of petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Deputies said he was charged after allegedly shoplifting from the Save-A-Lot store in the town of Johnstown. Deputies said he attempted to leave the store with two 12-packs of Heineken beer when a store manager confronted Allen.

He will appear later in Town Court.

Woman struck by car while crossing street

JOHNSTOWN — City police investigated a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian injury at 10:03 p.m. Thursday on Briggs Street near Jansen Avenue.

Police said a 30-year-old woman — whose name was not released — was attempting to cross Briggs Street at an angle when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. EMS responded and the victim was transported by MedFlight to Albany Medical Center. Police said the driver, whose name also wasn’t released, faces no charges.

Police said the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing, and attempting to cross the road at an angle and not within a crosswalk. The victim was due to be released from the hospital, police said Friday.
