AMSTERDAM — A 19-year-old Amsterdam man was charged with two felonies after assaulting a convenience store clerk, causing severe injuries to her face.

According to a news release from the Amsterdam Police Department, Joseph P. Delbridge was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree assault, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Thursday.

Police said on Wednesday around 4:06 p.m. police responded to the Shakir Convenience Store at 35 Reid St. for a report of an assault.

When police arrived, they found a female victim with a severe injury to her face and a male with an injury to his hand.
