Man pays 50 cents for cigarettes, charged
JOHNSTOWN — Zachary J. Acquilla, 33, of 142 County Highway 110, Broadalbin, was charged by city police at 6:13 p.m. Oct. 6 with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Police said he was charged at the police station stemming from an incident at 7:40 p.m. Sept. 21 after officers investigated a larceny complaint. Police determined Acquilla entered the Stewart’s Shop at 201 N. Comrie Ave., went behind the counter and grabbed a pack of cigarettes on his own. Police said he then left the on-duty store clerk with 50 cents and walked out, not coming to complete purchase of the $10.40 pack.
Acquilla was issued an appearance ticket for City Court.
Physical fight leads to assault charge
JOHNSTOWN — Adriana N. Gonzalez, 24, of 307 Glebe St., Johnstown, was charged by city police at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 with misdemeanor third-degree assault.
Police said she was charged in connection with an offense at 11 p.m. Sept. 19. Members of the police department investigated a complaint of a physical fight that occurred at 307 Glebe St.
Gonzalez was released to appear later in City Court.
Family dispute results in charges
JOHNSTOWN — Kayla M. Vogel, 36, of 3 Pearl St., Johnstown, was charged by city police at 3:09 p.m. Oct. 14 with attempted assault, a misdemeanor.
Police said she was arrested at her home after officers responded to a family offense. An investigation led to her arrest after a physical altercation, police said.
She will appear in City Court.
Suspect files false documents with DSS
JOHNSTOWN — Nicole James, 31, of Woodside Avenue, Gloversville, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s investigators Tuesday with two felony counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
Deputies said she was charged following a lengthy investigation. Investigators said she was charged on a complaint from the county Department of Social Services alleging she attempted to obtain welfare benefits she was not entitled to by failing to report she was receiving unemployment benefits.
James will appear later in City Court.
Teen charged with petit larceny
MAYFIELD — A 14-year-old Mayfield teen was charged by state police on Oct. 22 with petit larceny for an incident which occurred in Mayfield on Oct. 15.
He was released to a third party.
Man faces child pornography charges
AMSTERDAM — Christian M. Guere, 34, of Amsterdam was charged by state police on Oct. 21 with promoting a sexual performance of a child less than 17-years-old, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
Guere was released on cash bail.
Woman charged with petit larceny
AMSTERDAM — Heather Milne, 31, of Sharon Springs was charged by state police on Oct. 21 with petit larceny.
Man charged with having stolen goods
FLORIDA — Theodore S. Tarricone, 20, of Utica was charged by state police on Thursday with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property with a value greater than $3,000, aa class D felony.
His status was not reported.
