3 youths charged with petit larceny

AMSTERDAM — Three youths were charged with petit larceny by state police on Oct. 10.

The three — 14, 12 and 11 — were all from Amsterdam and released to a third party.

Driver allegedly impaired by drugs

MAYFIELD — Jack J. Lair, 59. of 199 Fisher Road, Caroga Lake, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 7 with driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Deputies said Lair was arrested following an investigation into a vehicle complaint Oct. 5 on Route 30 in the town of Mayfield. The suspect was located on Route 30 and interviewed. An investigation determined Lair was allegedly driving while impaired by drugs. The probe was left open pending toxicology results.

Lair will appear later in Town Court.

Call about erratic driving brings charges

JOHNSTOWN — Jared R. Thurber, 31, of 438 County Route 106, was charged on Dec. 8 by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies with driving while under the influence of drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance outside of the original container. 

Thurber was charged following a vehicle complaint of erratic operation in the town of Johnstown. He allegedly was operating the motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. He was also found to allegedly be in possession of controlled substances outside of their original containers and without prescriptions. 

Thurber was arraigned in Johnstown Town Court and released on his own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear in court again at a later date. 

April incident leads to felony charge

JOHNSTOWN—Ricky J. Hart, 49, of Johnstown was charged Dec. 9 with third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony, for an incident which occurred in Johnstown on April 19.

Hart was arraigned and released in his own recognizance.

Woman charged with shoplifting

PALATINE BRIDGE — Alyssa M. VanBuren, 22, of Palatine Bridge was charged by state police on Thursday with one count of petit larceny.

Two charged with grand larceny, 4th

QUEENSBURY — William F. Buczkowski, 30, of Johnstown and Miguel Marrero, 39, of Amsterdam were charged by state police on Friday with fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony.

Then in Wilton, both were charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Both were released on appearance tickets.
