Driver refuses breath test

AMSTERDAM —  Raoul Y. Anderson, 41, of 17 Hawk St., was charged on Feb. 14, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent, speeding in posted zone and refusal of a breath test. 

Anderson was charged following a traffic stop in which he displayed signs of intoxication. 

He was administered standardized field sobriety tests and transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office where he agreed to submit a chemical breath test. That showed  a BAC of 0.09 percent. He was issued a uniform traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in Amsterdam Town Court on March 11 at 6 p.m. 

Vehicle, driver’s license suspended

FULTONVILLE — Jeremy J. Smith, 30, of 110 Indian Road, Fonda was charged on Feb. 15 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended or revoked and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. 

Smith was charged following a traffic stop on Riverside Drive. A DMV check revealed  both Smith’s vehicle registration and driver’s license were suspended. 

He was processed roadside and released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to Glen Town Court at a later date. 

Diver had only learner’s permit

AMSTERDAM — Devon R. Ortiz, 19, of 46 Vrooman Ave. was charged on Friday, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended or revoked, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle  and a backseat passenger less than four-years-old with improper restraint. 

During a traffic stop on Route 30  in the town of Amsterdam, a DMV check revealed Ortiz was allegedly driving with only a learner’s permit and the registration of the vehicle he was operating was suspended on Dec. 7 for an insurance lapse.  During the traffic stop, an 8-month-old child was in the back seat area in an unbuckled car seat. 

He was processed roadside and released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to Amsterdam Town Court on a later date.

License has been suspended since ’16

AMSTERDAM — Trisha D. Johnson was charged on Friday by the Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree aggravated motor vehicle. 

During a traffic stop on Route 30 in the town of Amsterdam, a DMV check revealed that Johnson’s operating privilege had been revoked on Oct. 20, 2016 for a DWI. She was processed roadside and released on a uniform traffic ticket returnable to Amsterdam Town Court on March 11. 

Registration, license of driver suspended

FORT JOHNSON — David R. Crouse, 43, of 2 Montgomery Terrace Extension, Fonda was charged on Friday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with third-aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operation of  a motor vehicle while registration is suspended or revoked. 

Crouse was charged following a traffic stop in which a DMV check revealed both Crouse’s drivers license and vehicle registration were suspended. 

He was processed roadside and released on a uniform traffic ticket returnable to Amsterdam Town Court on a later date.
