Stolen property, unlicensed charged

FORT PLAIN — Kristopher D. Jones, 31, of 611 Smith Avenue, Illion was charged on Saturday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Jones was charged following a traffic stop in the village of Fort Plain in which he was found allegedly operating a vehicle that had been reported stolen from the City of Utica.

He was processed and arraigned in Palatine Town Court. He was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail because he is a three-time convicted felon and accused of a new felony charge. Jones is scheduled to appear in Canajoharie Town Court on March 4 at 4 p.m.

Registration, car not registrered

CANAJOHARIE — Joel Lozada, 37, of 740 Catherine St., Utica was charged on Feb. 11 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with operating a motor vehicle while the registration is suspended or revoked and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Lozada was charged following a traffic stop on Feb. 11, and during the traffic stop, a DMV check revealed his vehicle registration was suspended on Jan. 4 for an insurance lapse and his driving privilege was revoked on Aug. 6, 2004.

He was processed roadside and released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to Canajoharie Town Court on a later date.
