No interlock, license charged
FULTONVILLE — Stephanie L. Homkey, 35, of 4085 Route 5S was charged on March 21 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and circumvent ignition interlock device.
Homkey was charged following a traffic stop in which a DMV check revealed she held a suspended driver’s license. She was also required to have an ignition interlock device but did not.
She was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to Glen Town Court at a later date.
More than two times legal limit
ROOT — David C. Coons, 49, of 17 Chopin Parkway, Amsterdam was charged on March 19 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Deputies were dispatched to a one-car motor vehicle accident on March 19 on State Route 5S in the town of Root. Coons had failed a standardized field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent, and was subsequently charged for DWI.
He was released on appearance tickets returnable Root Town Court on a later date.
Accident leads to DWI charges
AMSTERDAM — Katrina J. Carey, 24, of 1387 County Highway 107, was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 percent.
Carey was charged following a motor-vehicle accident. During the investigation she failed standardized field sobriety tests.
She was processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable to Amsterdam Town Court on April 8.
Driver facing DWI charges
MOHAWK — Mark Damin 69, of 472 Switzer Hill Road, Fonda was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, DWI and no turn signal.
Damin was charged with DWI following a traffic stop.
He was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Mohawk Town Court on March 31.
Unlawful eviction, tampering charged
PATTERSONVILLE — Brian C. Leffler, 61, of 270 Dorn Road, was charged on March 11 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with two counts of third-degree criminal tampering, two counts of unlawful eviction and two counts of willful violations.
Leffler, during several incidents, allegedly tried to unlawfully evict tenants by shutting off their electricity, heat and water. He was advise by various members of the sheriff’s department that he must evict his tenants legally, and referred him to the civil division. Despite the advisement, Leffler allegedly continued his efforts to remove these tenants unlawfully.
He was charged and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Mohawk Town Court at a later date.
