A strong second quarter propelled Duanesburg to a 74-48 win against Berne-Knox-Westerlo in the Western Athletic Conference crossover semi-final Wednesday at Duanesburg.
Jeffrey Mulhern led Duanesburg with a game-high 23 points as Kyle Williams scored 15, Ethan Thompson added 13 and Michael Leak 12.
Dayne Coates scored 15 of his game-high 19 points in the first half for Berne-Knox-Westerlo. Blake Shaver added 10.
Duanesburg will face Fonda-Fultonville in the WAC championship game Saturday at Fulton Montgomery Community College.
Jacob Frank scored a game-high 26 points to lead Northville past Schoharie, 65-43. Northville held Schoharie under double-digits in the first two quarters for a commanding 35-17 halftime lead. Evan Tamulaitis scored 18 points for Northville with Chase Mitchell adding 10. Nate Burke led Schoharie with 11 points.
Austin VanGorder scored a game-high 26 points to lead Fort Plain past Middleburgh, 55-46. Stephen Gray added 11 points and Cameron David added 10. Troy Cammer led Middleburgh with 17 points, J.J. Narzymski added 13.
Mayfield defeated Galway 58-46, led by Trevor Ruberti with 20 points and Cam Abdella with 17. Galway was led by Josh Lovelass’ 13 points and Casey Clarke adding 10.
Antonio Fairley scored a game-high 27 points to lead Canajoharie past OESJ, 48-46. OESJ was led by Colten Christensen’s 19 points. Colin Eakin scored 12 and Dylan Barnes added 11.
Ben Kline scored a game-high 21 points to lead Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake past Gloversville, 58-45, in non-league action. Alex Doin scored 14 points with Luke Haluska adding 11 and Jackson Frame 10. James Collar led Gloversville with 17 points, Mariano DiCaterino added 15.
BLAKESLEE LEADS CANAJOHARIE PAST MIDDLEBURGH
A third-quarter run by Canajoharie led to a 48-38 win over Middleburgh in the Western Athletic Conference girls’ basketball crossovers. Meghan Blakeslee scored a team-high 13 points for Canajoharie, Gianna Memrick had 12 and Charlotte Nare 11. Sarah Schafroth scored a game-high 17 points for Middleburgh.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo opened with a 15-3 first quarter and never looked back, defeating Schoharie, 57-23. Ashlee Stevens led Berne-Knox-Westerlo with a game-high 14 points. Savannah Traverse led Schoharie with 11.
Allison O’Hanlon scored a game-high 28 points, leading Duanesburg past Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons, 70-28. Hannan Mulhern added 16. Angelina Deitz led Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons with 10 points.
All 10 OESJ players scored in the squad’s 34-26 win against Fort Plain. Brooke Trumble led OESJ with a game-high 13 points.Zionna Robarge led Fort Plain with 10 points.
Northville’s Hailey Monroe scored a game-high 19 points to lead Northville past Galway, 56-36. Keira Mackey added 11. Galway was led by Anna Sparado with 18 points with Grace O’Brien adding 16.
Four Fonda-Fultonville players reached double-digits in a 57-44 win over Mayfield. Ellla Slezalc led Fonda with a game-high 19 points followed by Quincey Lake and Kieonna Christmas with 15, Emma Crahan added 12. Mayfield was led by Abigail Chest’s 16 points and Cloey Dopp adding 11.
AIyana Weedon led Albany with her 16-point, 16 rebound double-double in a 51-42 Suburban Council win. Shonyae Edmonds scored 11 points and Navaeh House had 10. Sophie Bissaillon led Columbia with 12 points, Alivia Landy added 11.
Greenwich’s Grace Autiello scored a game-high 23 points in a 77-40 Wasaren League win against Mechanicville. Brooke Kezmuch added 16. Mechanicville was led by Ella Zecca with 19.
Saratoga Springs’ Carly Wise scored 12 of her game-high 22 points in the first half as the Blue Streaks defeated Queensbury, 57-46 in non-league action. Natasha Chudy added 16 points. Queensbury was led by Shea Canavan’s 16 points and Dyllan Ray added 15.
SARATOGA ALPINE WINS QUEENSBURY INVITATIONAL
Saratoga Springs alpine skier Will Fraser finished fourth-overall at 38.29 seconds to lead the boys’ team to the Queensbury Invitational title at West Mountain Wednesday. Saratoga Springs won with 29 points followed by Queensbury with 40, Glens Falls with 42, Johnstown with 51 and Shenendehowa with 57.5.
Broadalbin-Perth’s Colin Cotter had the top finish at 37.45 seconds. Queensbury’s Hudson Montgomery was second at 37.50, Ballston Spa’s Cole Evans was third at 37.71 and South Glens Falls’ Billy Welch was fifth at 38.63.
The Queensbury girls’ alpine team placed three skiers in the top 10 spots to win the girls’ title.
Riley Ward finished third, Meredith Montgomery fifth and Makenna Morehouse was seventh.
Saratoga Springs was second with 32 team points, led by Klaudie Berry’s first-place finish time of 38.11 seconds. Shenendehowa was third with 34 points followed by Glens Falls with 40 and Schuylerville fifth with 45.
