Clayton and Ellie Fosmire of Ephratah announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie Fosmire of Ephratah, to Staff Sgt. Derrick Sherwood, the son of Rick and Carol Sherwood of Weedsport, Cayuga County.
Fosmire, who is a 2004 graduate of Johnstown High School, received an associate degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Oswego in 2007. She is working toward a registered nurse degree at FMCC.
Sherwood is a 2004 graduate of Weedsport High School and a 2008 graduate of SUNY Oswego with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He joined the U.S. Air Force in November 2008 and is stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
A wedding is planned for June 22.
