Kathy and Mike Szala of Amsterdam announce the engagement of their daughter Nicole Szala to Kevin Niemir Jr., son of Wendy and Kevin Niemir of Fort Johnson.
Szala is a 2007 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School. She received a bachelor of science in education from the College of Saint Rose in 2013 and is a substitute teacher through HFM BOCES. She also works at Dunkin Donuts.
Niemir is a 2004 graduate of Amsterdam High School and has received an associate degree through Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He works at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam.
They currently reside in Tribes Hill.
A Oct. 4, 2014, wedding is being planned.
