NORTHVILLE – The Sacandaga Task Force for Senior Living offers services to find a handyman or handywoman specific to the needs of older area residents. Seniors need workers that are not only dependable and considerate, but also will work for a reasonable and fair rate.
It doesn’t matter what the needs are – changing a light bulb, mending, washing windows, painting, shopping, carpentry, moving items, stacking wood or even care giving – STFSL will try to find the right person for anyone requesting this service, a news release said.
When any senior needs a worker for a particular job or jobs, call the Sacandaga Task Force answering service. Within a few days, a Task Force representative will make contact, consult the Worker Directory and mail a list of the names and phone numbers of workers. All financial arrangements will be made by the senior and the worker.
Those who have questions or are interested in participating in this program either as a handyman, handywoman or as a senior needing someone to perform some services, call the Task Force answering service in the Village Hall at 863-4040, Ext.42.
