PERTH – The Perth Senior Citizen Club meeting was opened with a prayer, “The Guiding Light” by Co-chairman Chaplain Walter Sparks. There were 36 in attendance.
President Darlene Frederick led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The raffle was won by Ray Rhodes and Joan Carey and also was held by Sparks’ table. The prizes were won by Dottie Rickson and Fran Smith.
The secretary’s report was given by Grace Bevington-Eglin and the treasurer’s report was given by Mary Stachnik. Both were accepted as read.
Darlene Frederick gave the kitchen report.
Maureen Phillips, special events coordinator, stated that birthdays for September will be celebrated Sept. 18, and on Sept. 25, there will be a representative from Price Chopper.
For sunshine, Phillips sent out one get well card to Ginny Stahl.
Dolores Leggiero, trip chairman, stated she has a bus trip to Gavin’s on Oct. 9. There will be more information later.
In old business, the seniors had their picnic Aug. 14.
The group went to the Saratoga Casino on Aug. 22.
In new business, there was a discussion about having a penny sale or a horse race. There will be more at the next meeting, Wednesday (Sept. 4) at 11 a.m. at the senior center.
