BROADALBIN — The Broadalbin Seniors met on April 5, with 64 members present. The meeting was called to order by Toni Hallenbeck , president. The minutes were read and treasurer’s report was given. A welcome was given for all new members and visitors. Donations were collected for the Broadalbin Methodist Church food pantry, as the does the first week of each month. A raffle of a bathroom scale, donated by Bob Monteraro, took place. The winner was Nancy Weiss. A 50-50 raffle was held and the winner was Dolores Leggiero.
On April 4, the seniors attended the dress rehearsal of “Aladdin” A pizza and antipasto get together followed at the Pizza Supreme.
Bob Townsend from the Lions Club discussed the spaghetti dinner to be held from 4 to 8 p.m. April 29, at the Perth Volunteer Fire Co.
The Office for the Aging senior prom, Under the Sea, on April 28, at the Broadalbin-Perth Middle School gym was discussed. Resverations must be made by April 25.
The guest speaker was Pat Brooking from the Haven of Hope Farm, Fonda, the transitional housing to homeless women and children in Fulton and Montgomery counties. They also have a work experience program with a farm stand and bake shop.
The trip committee announces the upcoming trips: May 9, Hyde Park; June 27, Sonnenburg Gardens and luncheon cruise; July 18, Dutch Apple cruise and USS Slater; Aug. 15, Alexandria Bay luncheon cruise; Sept. 10-15, Biltmore Estate; Nov. 14-16, Lancaster, Pa.
The trip committee is also planning trips for 2018: In May to see the ark; and in September to the national parks.
