JOHNSTOWN — The following is for the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 East Main St.
The center has the following upcoming trips.
Nov. 15: The Beeches Christmas dinner theater, Rome, Oneida County. Those attending will depart the center at 10 a.m. and head for the dinner and show, “All She Wants For Christmas.” Menu: Chicken entree, fish haddock, chef choice carving — ham, roast beef or turkey, pasta, potato du jour, veggie du jour, fresh fruit platter, tossed salad, hot rolls, dessert table, coffee tea and milk. The approximate return time will be 6 p.m. Cost: $68 for members; and $72 for non-members.
Nov. 27: Christmas shopping. Join the group for a day of shopping and food. Attendees will depart the center at 9 a.m. and head to the Wits End store for a few hours of shopping and then to the Christmas Tree Shop at the Colonie Center. Those attending will have ample time for shopping and lunch on their own. The group will leave the mall at 3:30 p.m. and head to The Golden Corral for an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner. The approximate return time will be 6 p.m. Cost: $37 for members; and $40 for non-members.
The center will be hosting an American Association of Retired Persons defensive driving class from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 8. The November class will be the final class at the center for this year. Cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-AARP members. AARP accepts only checks or money-orders made payable to AARP. Stop in at the business office to sign up as payment is due upon registration.
