Lassellsville seniors to meet on June 11

LASSELLSVILLE — The May 14 meeting of the Western Fulton County Seniors was called to order by President Angela Hill, with a salute to the flag and recitation of the Lord’s Prayer.

The secretary and treasurer reports were read, and passed with all in favor.

Hill explained that no meetings at the Lassellsville Center had been held there since Dec. 11 because of water/electrical problems. Mark Hill and friends volunteered their skills and successfully repaired the difficulty.

Meetings for the following months in 2018 were held at the Winner’s Circle in Fonda.

A potluck lunch was hosted by the Mayfield/Bannertown seniors on April 11 at their facility.

A delicious Christmas luncheon was held Dec. 14 with the Mayfield Bannertown Seniors at Harold’s Restaurant in Gloversville.

Daphne Sydow, Case Worker at the Fulton County Office for Aging, gave a presentation celebrating the 40th year of the OFA. Kristen Weeden, Nutrition Services Manager, also noted various programs offered.

Noted was the passing of a new member, June Flansburg.

Current birthdays were observed.

Plans were made for summer and fall fundraising bake and garage sales, with dates to be announced. It was suggested that this be coordinated with the village wide garage sale, with advertising in Facebook, CraigsList, My Shopper and Pennysaver.

Many trips for 2018 were announced, with descriptive fliers available.

The winner of the 50-50 raffle was Linda Christman, and winners of the two other raffles were Tom Hogan and Debbie Hall.

The next regular meeting will be held on June 11. Anyone interested in attending the regular second Monday of each month noon potluck lunch and meeting is welcome at the Lassellsville Center, 5740 Route 29W. Come early to play cards or just visit.
