Senior center fundraising slated

JOHNSTOWN — The following is for the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St.

The senior center wants to purchase a quilt barn square for the front of the building and needs to raise money for the project. The center has a quilt which was donated by Sandy Christman, a local quilter, and it can be seen hanging in the front office; anyone can purchase a raffle ticket for $5 to help raise money. The drawing for the quilt will be held on Oct. 10, at the 50 Plus Club’s anniversary luncheon being held at Nicolino’s.

Free computer classes are being held at the center from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon each Tuesday. The classes are open to everyone from beginners to those who want to build on their current skills.

∫ American Association of Retired Person’s defensive driving classes: From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20, Aug. 3; Sept. 14; and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 14.


∫ From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. free blood pressure clinic.

∫ at 1 p.m. bingo with friends.

∫ From 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday housing and transportation showcase.

∫ From 1 to 3 p.m. July 22, card making.

∫ At 2 p.m. July 23, Mohawk Valley Physicians representative.
