CANAJOHARIE — The following are the Arkell Center programs for all area seniors for September.
Each Monday through Friday: At 11:45 a.m. the Office for the Aging Meals of Montgomery Program serves hot meals, $3 donation for ages 60 and older. Call (518) 673-2000 for reservations.
Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday: From 10 to 10:30 a.m. is senior exercise program in the basement. Coffee after.
Each Tuesday:
∫ Cancelled – from 9 to 10 a.m. back on Oct. 11, core strength and stability class in basement with Sharon Charles, instructor. Donation: $5.
∫ From 10 to 11 a.m. Tai Chi class, sponsored by MCOFA, with Earl O’Bryan, instructor. Donations accepted.
Each Wednesday:
∫ From 2 to 2:25 p.m. is chair yoga in the gallery.
∫ From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. is gentle yoga with Patty Pietrowicz, instructor, in the basement. $5 donation.
Each Friday: Cancelled – from 9 to 10 a.m. back on Oct. 11, yoga in the gallery. $10 fee.
Events
∫ Tuesday: From 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. blood pressure clinic by Home Health Care Partner‘s Corp., co-sponsored by St. Mary’s and Nathan Littauer hospitals.
∫ Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30: From 12:30 to 4 p.m. senior citizens pinochle card party with prizes and refreshments. $2 donation. Anyone who wants to sub can call (518) 673-5635.
∫ Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31: From 10:15 to 11 a.m. Diet Club in gallery at Arkell Center; (518) 673-2112.
∫ Oct. 4: At 1 p.m. Canajoharie Senior Citizens Club meeting. At 1:30 p.m. the guest speaker will be Canajoharie Mayor Jeff Baker.
∫ Oct. 7: From 6 to 8 p.m. knit and crochet with Carol Balfe. Bring donated items for the upcoming fundraiser in Sharon Springs, Schoharie County.
∫ Oct. 8: At 6 p.m. Canajoharie-Palatine Bridge Chamber of Commerce meeting at Arkell Center.
∫ Oct. 17: At 1:30 p.m. water color. Cost: $10.
∫ Oct. 18: At 1 p.m. Canajoharie Senior Citizens Club meeting. Animal shelter visits the club – bring a can of food for a cat or dog — all welcome.
∫ Oct. 22: At 2 p.m. ladder ball with Arkell residents.
∫ Oct. 25: Fall coloring program with refreshments. All are welcome.
∫ Oct. 29: At 2 p.m. join Arkell residents at the center for a game of corn hole toss.
∫ Oct. 31: At 11 a.m. Canajoharie kindergarten Halloween parade and music. All are welcome.
