MAYFIELD — The Bannertown 50 Plus Seniors met on Sept. 11, for their day of socialization, lunch and meeting. Evie Leach, chaplain opened the luncheon with the devotion, “God is with me,” followed by “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Becky White, from the Office for the Aging, spoke on a workshop for healthy living. They will be on Wednesdays. She also informed the members with open insurance enrollment, everyone should be getting an annual notice from their insurance companies about changes coming in the new year to their policies.
President Carl Edwards opened the meeting with reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Nancy Hayes, vice president, gave the roll call.
Ann Mallin, sunshine chairman, sent out no cards.
Lorrie Valk, secretary, and Joan Bezio, treasurer, gave their reports and were accepted.
Edwards read a thank you card from the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church for the donation of canned goods for the food pantry.
The club was in agreement to donate money for candy for the Mayfield Community Halloween party in October.
One member told of an auction that will be happening in Edinburg from Wednesday through Saturday. She also mentioned a fall festival on Saturday.
The next meeting on Wednesday, will be Jeff Leach and Janet Betler making cookies.
The meeting adjourned and drawings were held. The winners were Valk, the door prize and donated it back. Steve Van Allen won the 50-50.
An end of the summer auction was held.
