CANAJOHARIE — The Arkell Center will be closed Dec. 31, and Jan. 1 for New Year’s holiday. There will be no water color until February.
The following are the Arkell Center programs for all area seniors for January.
Each Monday through Friday: At 11:45 a.m. the Office for the Aging Meals of Montgomery Program serves hot meals, $3 donation for ages 60 and older. Call (518) 673-2000 for reservations.
Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday: From 10 to 10:30 a.m. is senior exercise program in the basement. Coffee after.
∫ From 9 to 10 a.m. core strength and stability class in basement with Sharon Charles, instructor. Donation: $5.
∫ From 10 to 11 a.m. Tai Chi class, sponsored by MCOFA, with Earl O’Bryan, instructor. Donations accepted.
Each Wednesday: Chair and gentle yoga will be closed until Feb. 5, 2020.
Each Friday: From 9 to 10 a.m. yoga in the gallery. $10 fee.
Jan. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30: From 10:15 to 11 a.m. the Diet Club in the gallery at Arkell Center. The goal is to be held accountable while maintaining weight; (518) 673-2112.
Jan. 7: From 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. blood pressure clinic by Home Health Care Partner’s Corp., co-sponsored by St. Mary’s and Nathan Littauer hospitals.
Jan 8, 15, 22, and 29: From 12:30 to 4 p.m. senior citizens pinochle card party. The donation is $2 with prizes and refreshments. Anyone who wants to sub, can call (518) 673-5635.
Jan. 10: Canajoharie Senior Citizens club meeting, 1 p.m.; bingo with the seniors.
Jan. 14: At 1 p.m. shuffle board with Arkell Hall residents.
Jan. 15: From 6:30 to 8 p.m. the Computer Science Internship group at Canajoharie High School computer help. They will help solve questions and problems.
Jan. 21: At 2 p.m. color and relax at Arkell Center.
Jan. 31: At 1 p.m. Canajoharie Senior Citizens club meeting. At 1:15 p.m. Gary VanSlyke will present “Winter Songs.”
