JOHNSTOWN — The following is for the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St.
The center held an informative meeting on Thursday, with a presentation, Stop the Bleed. Eileen Breckenridge, from Nathan Littauer Hospital, teaches the lay person what to do in emergency situations when someone is bleeding. The center is looking forward to Thursday when the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired will discuss their services. The 50 Plus Club will be hosting this event at 1 p.m. and welcomes everyone to come.
The following are the upcoming events at the center:
∫ At 11 a.m. Tuesday, will be the second bazaar planning meeting followed by lunch.
∫ At 1 p.m. Wednesday, will be Wii bowling.
∫ From 10 a.m. to noon this Friday, is the first Friday for pinochle. Everyone is welcome to come and teams will be set up at that time.
∫ From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 11, the Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan representative will be at the center.
∫ At noon the lunch crew will meet at Romana’s; call the center to RSVP.
∫ At 1 p.m. will be card making with Julie Passero
∫ From 1 to 3 p.m. a Blue Shield representative will be at the center.
∫ At noon Feb. 13, the center will provide a spaghetti luncheon followed by the 50 Plus Club’s Valentine-Friendship Day games and prizes.
The Eavesdropper, the center’s monthly newsletter, is in the center lobby. It has all the information on 50 Plus Club events, classes, and other services being offered at the center.
The membership is $15 for the year and brings with it discounts on classes, trips, and 50 Plus Club events.

∫ Working on trips for the upcoming months and will share the information once they are finalized.
∫ Not collecting items for the bazaar yet and there will be specific days and times to bring them in March that will be announced.
