Lempke-Bennett

Heather L. Bennett, daughter of Rusty and Sharon Bennett of Rochester, was united in marriage to Mark A. Lempke, son of Charles and Carol Lempke of Gloversville, on May 19, 2013.

The ceremony was held at the Church of the Epiphany in Rochester. The Rev. Nancy Stevens and the Rev. Robert Shannon, uncle of the bride, officiated. A reception followed at the Artisan Works.

Attendants for the bride were Kate Ambrose, matron of honor; Katherine Cogdill, maid of honor; and Sean and Becky Bennett.

Attendants for the groom included his brother, Matthew Lempke, as best man; Stephanie Thornton Lempke, Jim Krygowski and Nathan Detweiler.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Aquinas Institute in Rochester and a 2008 graduate of Houghton College. She worked for AmeriCorps in Columbus, Ohio, and Portland, Maine, prior to receiving a master’s degree in history from Drew University in New Jersey. She now is a doctoral student at Drew.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District and a 2005 graduate of Houghton College and received a Ph.D. in history from the State University at Buffalo in 2011. He is employed in Singapore as an instructor at the Singapore Institute of Management.
