Nellis — Tennis

Brooke M. Nellis, the daughter of Victoria Nellis of Johnstown and the late Wayne Nellis of Tribes Hill, was united in marriage to Jacob J. Tennis, the son of Paul and Bonnie Steenburgh of Ephratah and John and Glenn Tennis of Johnstown, on Sept. 10, 2016.

The ceremony took place at the Church of St. Peter, Saratoga. The Rev. James T. Fitzmaurice officiated.

The matron of honor was Natalie Nellis of Fonda. The bridal attendants were Amy Hitchcock, Katie Nellis, Claire Tennis, Cissy Petoff and Megan Toor. The flower girls were Rylan Aiken and Emelia and Avery Mesibov.

The best man was Preston Filkins of Altamont, Albany County. The attendants were Lucas Nellis, Wesley Cox, Robert Ruggerio, Steve Liberto and Brandon Caldwell. The ringbearer was Lucas Soliman.

Michele Bennett of Johnstown, grandmother of the bride; and Bonnie Steenburgh of Ephratah, mother of the bridegroom, did readings.

A wedding trip was taken to St. Lucia. They reside in Stone Arabia.

Nellis, who is a 2009 graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School, received an associate’s degree in nursing from Fulton-Montgomery Community College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Utica College. She is employed as a registered nurse at Nathan Littauer Hosptial.

Tennis, who is a 2005 graduate of Johnstown High School, received an associate’s degree in civil engineering from Mohawk Valley Community College and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute. He is employed as a project manager at Greenman-Pederson Inc.
