Sandra Lucia Almeyda Zambrano, the daughter of Georget Almeyda of Lima, Peru and Elena A. Brown of Tucson, Ariz., was united in marriage to Scott Ford, the son of William Sr. and Deborah Ford of Johnstown.
The ceremony took place March 3, in Lima. The guests attended from the town of Florida; Arizona, and Peru.
The flower girls were Liana Almeyda Broadbent, Adriana Calero Almeyda, and Cielo Pinedo Almeyda, nieces of the bride. The ringbearer was Matias Almeyda Ballon, nephew of the bride.
Almeyda Zambrano, a native of Peru, received a bachelor’s degree in forest science from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina and a master’s degree in geography from the University of Alabama.
Ford, a 2008 graduate of Johnstown High School, received a bachelor’s degree in environmental geosciences from the University at Buffalo and a master’s degree in geography from the University of Alabama.
The couple lives in the Amazon region of Ecuador, where they manage a wildlife rescue center.
