Christmas at the Fort set

FORT PLAIN — The Christmas at the Fort – Author Fair/Book Signing will be held Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fort Plain Museum, 389 Canal St. The author fair/book signing will run from noon to 3 p.m. There also will be Colonial Christmas music, bookstore and gift shop discounts, refreshments, holiday cheer, and more.

Colonial Stroll set for Dec. 3

JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Colonial Stroll and Holiday Parade will take place downtown Dec. 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The parade starts at 6:30 pm, and ends with Santa in the park lighting the tree! Enjoy the lights in the park and visit the many Downtown Retailers and Eateries that will be open for the event. Several other activities and entertainment will be happening, a news release said.

Tree lighting set in Gloversville

GLOVERSVILLE — A holiday tree lighting will take place beginning at 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 at 14 Spring St. The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with cookies, hot cocoa, carolers and, of course, Santa. The tree lighting will be held at 6 p.m. Pictures with Santa immediately following the tree lighting; attendees should bring their cameras, a news release said.

Bigfoot tales to be told at library

TOWN OF FLORIDA — On Nov. 27, “Who is Bigfoot?” will be held at the Fort Hunter Free Library, from 10 a.m. to noon. Mary Ann Delany is a storyteller of the Metis Nation of North American and Canadian Bands. She will tell native stories about Bigfoot, also commonly referred to as Sasquatch.
