AMSTERDAM — Thomas E. Fantozzi, 76, of 213 Cranes Hollow Road, Amsterdam, was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with third—degree assault.

Deputies said he was charged following a domestic dispute in the town of Amsterdam.

Driving while intoxicated charged

MOHAWK — Alicia M. Ellis, 40, of 47 Bartlett St., Apt 2, Amsterdam, was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies May 8 with driving while intoxicated, first offense; aggravated DWI — driving with 0.18 percent blood-alcohol content; and failure to use designated lane.

Deputies said the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver eastbound on Route 5 in the town of Mohawk. A deputy was able to identify the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After the investigation, it was found Ellis was allegedly impaired by alcohol.

Ellis will appear later in Town Court.
