Leo F. Dunham

Leo F. Dunham, 90, of Dunham Hill Road, Northville died Saturday January 5, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was born in Gloversville, NY on July 15, 1922. The son of the late; Cyris and Edith Pickering Dunham. Leo was a graduate of Wells Central School. He was a United States Air Force and United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a pilot and taught navigational flying while in the Air Force. He was a member of CAP (Civil Air Patrol) and the police auxillary in Fulton and Columbia Counties.

Leo was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed reading and his family was his life’s legacy. He was in the band Western Aces and enjoyed playing guitar most of his life. He enjoyed going to Bluegrass Festivals. He was also a member of the American Legion, the NRA and the Republican National Committee.

He was employed by Niagara Mohawk for many years and retired in 1972.

Survivors include his wife; Charlene Dunham of Northville. Four children; Cherri Hart (Scott Anderson) of Wells, Holli Blowers (Corey) of Hope, Jean Griffin (Herb) of Caroga Lake and Paul Dunham (Maureen) of Broadalbin. Six grandchildren and Four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife; Madeline Dunham.

Friends may call on Tuesday January 8, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Service where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be held in the spring in Wadsworth Cemetery, Hope.
