Barrett M. “Barry” Machere, 67, of Bleecker, formerly of Northville, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Lyndhurst, N.J. on January 14, 1946, the son of the late Michael and Anna (Slovak) Machere.
Barry was a skilled carpenter by trade, owning and operating his own business, Barrett Machere Carpentry, in Ringwood, N.J., until his retirement 12 years ago. Following his retirement he moved to Northville and for the last two years he has made his home in Bleecker.
Mr. Machere was a veteran, having served his country from 1965 until 1967 in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Machere was married on July 10, 1971, to his beloved wife and best friend of over 40 years, Jean Campbell Machere.
Besides his wife, Barry is survived by of two sons, Barrett W. Machere of Brooklyn and Kevin M. Machere of Latham; several nieces; a nephew; and close friends.
It was Barry’s wish that funeral services be private.
