Mr. Richard J. Peterson, age 84, of Gloversville, died Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Hospital. He has been under the loving care of Lexington Center at their location on Bridge Street in Northville for five years and recently at Mountain View I in Gloversville.
He was born July 16, 1928, in Gloversville, the son of the late Earl and Florence Moats Peterson.
Richard is survived by: a niece, Melody A. Denton (Tim), and a nephew, Steven Peterson (Mary), all of Gloversville; as well as two grandnieces and a grandnephew.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Katherine Peterson; and also by his sister, Velma N. Peterson, who dedicated her entire lifetime to caring for Richard.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Lexington Center, 127 E. State St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
