John S. Anderson

John S. Anderson, 79, of Algonquin Drive, Wells, died March 15th 2013 with his family at his side. He was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, on October 26, 1933. He was the son of Peter and Hedwig Anderson.

He was a graduate of Norwich University with a Bachelor of Science in 1955. He was the administrator of the Sacandaga Reservoir, working for the Hudson-River Black River Regulating District for 33 years, retiring in October 1996. He was an army veteran. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers before moving to Wells. In Wells, he was a served as town justice and a member of Wells Fire Company and Ambulance Squad. He was a former councilman and served on the Wells Central School Board. He was a member and master of the Fish House Masonic Lodge and a civil engineer. John loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela, four sons, Scott Anderson, John Anderson ( Jean), Craig Anderson all of Wells and William Harrington (Amy) of Pepperell MA., two daughters, Bonnie Bailey (Richard) of Perth and Kelly Dombrowski (Paul) of Delanson, NY, one sister, Jean Hasslinger (Clifford) of Paramus, NJ, and also survived by six grandchildren.

Friends may call Monday, March 18th, from four to seven at the Northville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 am. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wells Fire Department or the Mountain Valley Hospice. Spring burial will be held in the Algonquin Cemetery, Wells NY.
