Steven J. Willett, 55 of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville.
Born November 24, 1957, he was the son of Donald J. Willett and the late Lorraine E. Willett.
Steven was originally from Patchogue, Long Island, until moving to Fulton County in 1983. Mr. Willett opened and ran several businesses; Twin’s Deli, Twin City Travel Agency, Partner’s Pub, Wireworks Inc, Shore to Shore Inc, and Veteran’s Telecom Inc. He was an active member of the Johnstown Lions Club, Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Johnstown Eagles Club. Steven was well known for his generosity to the community. He donated to many local causes, as well as helped many in need. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, golfing, the New York Yankees, Rangers, and Giants. He loved a great time with friends and family, and will always be remembered by those who knew him.
Steven is survived by his wife since 1987, Elena Cole Willett, and their four children; one son Christopher (Cathy) Cole; three daughters Elizabeth, Erin, and Maddie Willett, one grandson, Gabe Cole, all of Johnstown; two sisters Donna (Jeffrey) Childs and Lori A. Raynor and one brother Kevin D. (Deborah) Willett.
Besides his mother, Steven was predeceased by his brother Alan K. Willett in 1999.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5th at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, March 4th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
