Wilma Lily Mead, 73, a resident of Yates Road Mayfield, N.Y., died Friday, March 22, 2013, at home after being stricken. She was born in Gloversville, NY on September 21, 1939, the daughter of the late Clark and Irene Rulison Mead. She attended Northville Central School and was employed by Lexington for many years. She was of Protestant faith.
She was a former member of the Richard Montgomery Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, a current member of the Descendants of General George Washington Army at Valley Forge, and a direct descendant of Mayflower pilgrim George Soule, 35th signer of the Mayflower Compact.
Survivors include: her three brothers, Clark Mead of Hagaman, Danny Mead of Benson and Bob Mead of East Greenbush; two sisters, Nancy Kaplowitz-Karp of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Marlene Gentile of Gloversville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by Teri Frasier Lee of Florida, to whom she was like a second mother. She was predeceased by her brother David Mead in 1990.
In keeping with Wilma’s wishes, there will be no calling hour or funeral service. A private burial service will be held later in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the James A.
