Russell C. DeMartine, 89, of West Corners, town of Union, and formerly of Gloversville, N.Y., passed away April 2, 2013. Russ is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Florence DeMartine; four children and their spouses, Deanne and Rick Jones, David and Lora DeMartine, Douglas and Mary DeMartine, Dan and Eve DeMartine; seven grandchildren, Jason DeMartine, Heidi Vavrick, Tasha and Shelby DeMartine, Samantha DeMartine, Alicia and Marcus DeMartine. Russ was employed with General Electric for over 30 years. He was a veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy. During his service he obtained the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. Russ was an avid golfer and bowler.
Graveside services were held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Friday, April 5, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society.
