Sharron L. Thompson, 64, of Gloversville, passed away at her home on Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, following a long illness.
Born on June 17, 1948, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lois (Harding) Pellegrino.
She was married to Jon S. Thompson on August 25, 1968. Mrs. Thompson had a great love for her family; she was a loving wife, a devoted mother and a proud grandmother. Her first priority was always her children and grandchildren. Sharron also enjoyed cooking, reading, music, traveling and decorating her home.
She is survived by her husband, Jon Thompson of Gloversville; sons, Sean (Holly) Thompson of Tribes Hill, Shane Thompson of Gloversville and Joshua Thompson of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Jackson and Marissa Thompson, both of Tribes Hill; brothers, Marc Pellegrino of Albany, David (Julia) Pellegrino of Randolph, Vt., Stephen Pellegrino of Florida and Karl Pellegrino of Pennsylvania; one sister, Lucinda (Robert) Olmstead of Loudonville; one aunt, Dawn Kingsley of Speculator; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. on Saturday, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.

The family would like to thank Community Health Center nurses, Barbara, Katrina, and Marianne; Dr. Goslin and the staff at NYOH-Amsterdam; Dr. Dominick Paonessa and staff at St. Peter’s Hospital; and finally, the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam for the great care they gave to Sharron.
